I had linked my USCIS alert to sends an SMS to my cell phone. When I got 4 SMS at 7:42 from USCIS, I knew that something was up - checked my email and bingo approved!

2 years and a few weeks since submitting I-485 and 3.5 years since starting labor.

Any questions, please ask. Nothing remarkable about my case, same job throughout - but I learnt a lot from others in this forum.

Only one RFE in the early stages of submission for educational eval.

FP2 09/07 (but online message did not change from Nov 2002 FP and no LUD till today)

Good luck to all Sep 02 and earlier filers.

Then you will be checking the phone every ten minutes. Once big condition is that you need to be able to receive SMS on your phone (either pay for it or find some one like ATT wireless that allows free SMS receipt.

Then, there are a couple of ways
a) almost all providers have set up a default email id for you in the form of <yournumber>@<Provider>.com
I am with att and they have set up 978xxxxxxxx@mobile.att.net. I know that Sprint has similar. Then you can set up your email to forward alerts to that mobile device account

or b) if you use yahoo mail you can set up an alert that will forward your email to your mobile device (by giving your phone number). In addition, you can set up filter criteria for messages that you want to set up the alert. etc There is more info if you search help in yahoo for mobile alert (excerpts here)
"
Mobile Device User: You can now forward e-mail from your Yahoo! Mail account to your pager or cell phone. Edit/Add New Devices

Want to get stock quotes, auctions status, weather, and other alerts on your pager or cell phone? Set it up on Yahoo! Mobile Alerts
"

Fortunately, ATT GSM does not charge for retrieving SMS.
