Hi
I'm nervous. I knew I'm a winner last year, but I was so lazy and I didn't submit my documents. now my case number is current, I called KCC and they told me they will still process dv if I sent the documents,I sent the documents last week and it was confirmed that they received them.

Do you think I still get interview?
how long it takes for them to process my documents?
do you think I will get interview ? and when?
is it really too late now to process dv 2013?

Can't help but say, a lot of people are sending bad karma your way right now! :D Today, whole bunch of people found out that they did not win the lottery, and here you are, telling that you've won and did not care about it so far. There will be little sympathy for your questions but I'll be nice and answer ;) It is not too late. You'll get your interview. Unless of course you are from a very low quota country and all visas have already been given.

If your forms have already reached the KCC then you should have an interview but you need to keep following up with them at this stage. Why didn't you submit the documents early?

At this rate it would take not less than 2-3 weeks (if you're lucky) for them to process the documents.

You should have the interview now that the KCC has the documents but keep following up. I hope you go through.

My case number is current, when I called them, they told me if I send my documents now I will get interview in August.
what do you mean by low quota country? how this can be checked?

and.. how long it takes for them to process my documents?

I should have submitted my documents early I know, but I didn't. however, why it takes that long to process the documents, what actually they do with the forms?

can you confirm also, I submitted the pictures, DS122 and the other form only, do I need to submit anything else?

Thanks

Look at here:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_5715.html

If your country's number is like less than 100 or so, that's pretty low. If it is in 1000s, it's OK. Visas are first come first serve. Chances are everybody in your country already have sent their applications so you'll be likely the last person to get an interview. If not all the visas are given by then, you'll get your chance. I don't know how long it'll take them to schedule you an interview. Good luck.

Long? Some people wait for 6-8 months for their DV interview, and that's only DV. People wait for multiple years to get a regular interview. More bad karma to you :)

Bro think about the amount of applications the KCC has to go through. Most people will have sent in their forms within the first 6 weeks to get in line so to speak.

There's also internal processing so to speak in the sense that according to the forms that go in first get allocated first for interviews.

If the KCC has said you'll get your interview in August then you should get it in August as they are the final say.

"Long? Some people wait for 6-8 months for their DV interview, and that's only DV. People wait for multiple years to get a regular interview. "

Hold up... are you telling me if I found out I won today that I could have an interview in as soon as six months from today? And you consider this an abnormally long wait? Or are you referring to the clock starting AFTER you hear back from KCC for the second notification or whatever the jive talk is?

And what is a "regular interview"?

Who would wait years?

All interviews are categorically based so can't be compared if you know what I mean.

Like I stated on the other post your interview will be based on case number cut-offs on the visa bulletin.

Yes, and also for those of us who are already here, people wait for months even after they sent their application package.

People who go through "regular" immigration in US, not lucky enough to win a free ticket.
