Sent ETA9089 over 140 days ago - no answer

Hello everyone;

My company's attorney sent a paper ETA9089 to Atlanta over 140 days ago. We have proof when the application was received by Department of Labor and who picked it up. However, 140 days passed and my boss has never received any phone calls from DOL regarding the confirmation of my sponsorship. The lawyer says we have to wait but is it common that no one calls the company during such a long time? How to check the status of the case? Thank you for any inputs.
 
Paper cases are really hard to deal with; we've never filed on e in this matter so I can't really provide any input. I personally find filing a paper case to be ridiculous and unnecessary; that said, it can't be changed even though it's already filed. Your attorney should be emailing/calling the DOL regularly to check the status/find out what's going on with the case. Usually the DOL will respond to status emails within a few days at most, even if it's just a generic response at least you would rest easier that your case was actually THERE in their system.
