Guys,

I have been extremely patient so far but have decided that its time to get some Senator or Congressman involved in my case. Can someone please guide me as to how I should go about it and which congressman or senator I should get in touch with. I am looking for the following things specifically -

1. Which senator or congressman to get in touch with?

2. How to get information on who to contact?

3. What should my letter contain?

4. Is there anything in particular that I may write that might help things.

Any input will be much appreciated.

Saras 76; You can call your Senator's office and give information to them. They should be able to call USICS and get back to you with status. Make sure you mention that your case is much behind the current processing dates.

Saxby Chamblis is the senator for the area I live (East cobb). You need to speak to the senator who represents the county you live in

Best of luck.

be careful saras or might be punished

I have read forum threads where an inquiry was initiated through senator/congressperson, and then the application went into rfes for couple of years.
Be careful before you land in that loop and are punished.

Thanks

Sethumadhavan & lrugnevm,

Thank you for your input. I will consider everything and will make a decision soon. The situation is such that I am damned if do and damned if I don't.

Don't be afriad of rumors. I think you have a valid case and I feel there is nothing wrong in approcahing the Senator. The system to expedite through Senators exists only for such cases as yours where you have no idea why your case is not taken up yet for processing.

It may be quite possible there could be an RFE, but so what ? It may not be becuase of a Senator asking for Status, but due to some valid reason, atleast you can respond to RFE and set the process moving.

Many folks get RFEs and get green card subsequently.

Best of Luck
