My I-485 has been pending since Jan 2005. So I would like to request USCIS through Senator office, you don't think this is not useful. I have seen couple of people requesting senator in this forum.

You can write to senator, not sure that will do something but we always hope to get something. I would encourage you to do it. Nothing wrong. I too wrote to my senator last week and waiting.

I didn't find writing Senator's office to be helpful at all. His staff just opened a SR for me which came back with standard namecheck pending reply, and Senator's staffer told me that they couldn't do anything to help me with resolvig it and I just had to wait. Same goes for writing to Ombundsman's office, they also just opened a SR that generated that same namecheck pending response (surprise surprise ) , and the Ombundsman couldn't do anything to expedite my case.
