self H1B1 sponsorship

I have a friend that needs to get some advice. He is married to a us citizen but does not have his green card and wants to abandon his green card application for personal problems. He wants to sposnor hi,self with an H1B1 visa under his own company. Can he do that? knowing that he just opened his company. and how does it work? thanks in advance

One cannot sponsor himself for a H1 visa.
