Selective Services Status Letter

I was a valid non immigrant till age 30 (F1 and H1), do you suggest I get the status letter from Selective Services?

What have the majority of people on this forum in similar condition done?

Wondering if I get it in advance or only if asked

Any bad effects of requesting the letter?
 
If you were a nonimmigrant, in that case you do not need any Selective Service registering. If the IO asks anything tell him/her that you were a nonimmigrant till 30 years of age. You'll be fine!
 
I was in F1, H1 status before I was 26. By the time I got my GC I was over 30. During the interview IO didn't ask about my SS status.
 
IO calculated the age duirng the app check

and wrote on the app that I became LPR at 31. so no SSC requirements needed.
 
I was required to have SS registered which I did but didnt have proof. The IO didnt even ask about it.... so as long as you can tell the IO from your visa that it wasnt required .. that should be good enough.
