The interview letters for me and my wife have "Selective Services Registration proof" as one of the documents listed for the interview. We were both past 26 when we got our green cards, so we never had to register for one. Does anyone know if we still need to take some kind of documentation to prove that?

Did you legally lived in US before you turned 26? I mean Asylum H-1 Visa etc?

I was 27 when I came to US on H1 and my wife was 24. But, my understanding is that non-immigrants are not required to register even if I was under 26.

Only males are required to register if they lived in the US when they were 26 or younger as a LPR or illegal (valid non immigrant status are exempt from SS requirement). If you reached 27th birthday before you got your green card, you were not required to register.

You don't have to worry about it because you were and are not required to register since you entered on H1 when you were 27. Also, it has nothing to do with your wife because SS are for only males, not females.

No need to worry. Those who review yoru file at NBC and issue yellow
letter apparently do not take their job very seriously. They may randomly
select a few items without carefully examining applicability
