Selective Services (H1/I-485)

I entered US on H1 and filled I-485 family based after 3 months and remained on that status till my 26th birthday and got green card after i was 26. I never heard of Selective Service, was i supposed to register sss.gov site doesnot mention H1 as waiver or i could not find. Do u have to register if u are waiting for your I-485 ??? i dont know help will be appreciated.

i thought H1 is classified as "non-immigrant" visa / status. i had started my F1 and I got my H1 shortly before my 26th birthday. i had never heard about the selective service before. however, i am going to request a letter from SS about i did not register and why i didn't.
