I read the few threads on this.. and unfortunately, I am still confused. ;-)

I think the confusion is mainly due to the language used in the worksheet used in the "Guide" and the N400 form itself.

I entered US on F-1 visa status when I was 22 years old and changed to
H1 only when i was 26 and got my GC when i was 31. I was legal at all times.

So according to N400 - when it asks me..
----------
33. Are you a male who lived in the United States at any time between your 18th and 26th birthdays
in any status except as a lawful nonimmigrant? Yes No
-----------

I feel the correct answer is "NO".
I was in the US between 18 and 26 and was always a lawful nonimmigrant.

However, the guide worksheet does not ask about lawful nonimmigrant status. it just asks about my prescence in the US.
so according to that I have to present my Status Info Sheet.

I am going ahead and trying to get my Status Info sheet anyways to be on the safe side.. but ... what should my answer be in Q 33 on N400 ?

Yes or No ?

i had the similar status with yours.

i answered "No". I went to question 34. i sent a request to SSS office for getting the status (because, i never registered before).
also, you might want to gather your previous I-20s, H1b permits to prove your legal nonimmigrant status.

You guys are fine. CIS wants to know if you had a green card before you were 26 AND did not register for selective service.

In your case you got GC at 31. So, all this selective service stuff does not apply.
