Hi,
I am planning to apply for US Citizenship for me and my wife. I am 35 yrs old. When filling the application, i saw the question about selective service registration. What should i answer for the question:

Are you a male who lived in the united states at any time between your 18th and 26th birthdays in any status excpet as a lawful nonimmigrant? (Yes/No)

I was in college from 92-94 on f-1 visa and then moved on h-1b after that. Right now i am a GC holder.

Please advise.

I love it when people ask questions and leave just partial hints so I have to do most of the mathwork. In this case I failed the riddle since I DO NOT know how long you were on H-1b.

Let's make it simple, then:
IF you got your GC AFTER you were 26 - you did not have to register. (This would happen if you held your H1-b for some two years and up... you see, you make me try to do the math without even knowing the exact dates of your brithdate and when your F-1 expired)

If you got your GC prior to 26 you had to register.

Either way,

Go to the SS website and follow their guidlines get a letter from them stating you did not have to register / you failed to register.

Hi Yalag,
My birth date is 2/12/1969,
F-1 valid dates from 08/92-08/95, with the length of study not to exceed 2 years.
Was on EAD from 09/94-005/95, do not have copy of my ead now, got h-1b in 06/95, have the copy of h-1b visa, had my h-1 b visa extended for a second time.
Got my gc on 03/16/2000.

Please let me know if i would have issues.

Seems like you have nothing to worry about.
Just send all the stuff you got (I also photocopied every page in my passport and highlighted my exits and antries which were relevant ot explain my status between ages 18-26), tothe SS service andwithin two weeks you will get a response letter.

Take care,
Yalag
