I am trying to figure out if I need to request any sort of documentation from Selective Services for my N-400 process. So far none has been requested during the application process but I want to make sure...
Here is my timeline:
With that, I always entered the US as a non-immigrant alien while I was under 26. When I become an LPR I was over 26.
I was "in-between" statuses from August 1998 until May 2000 while my LPR application was processed. This is where I am not sure - how does this time count while my LPR application was processed?
During the LPR process Selective Services never came up as a question or an issue.
Do I need to request a status information letter from Selective Services or is it sufficient to take my student visa documentation and I-485 filing receipt to my N-400 interview in case there are questions?
Here is my timeline:
- Entered the US on an F-1 student visa in May 1996 - age 22
- Full time student July 1996-June 1999
- Married a US citizen in Aug 1997
- Applied for my green card in Aug 1998
- Work Permit issued Oct 1998
- Full time work while staying in school part time June 1999 - Dec 2000
- Jan 2000 - turned 26
- Green Card approved/issued in May 2000
