Hi all, I am new to this forum and could not find answer to a question I have regarding Selective service requirement. I am 33 year old male, applying for US citizenship. I came to USA before my 24th birthday on F-1 visa, two years later I received H-1 visa. Just before my 28th birthday I became PR. Did I need to register with SS?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your replies. No, I never was out of status. I was either on F-1 or H-1 before getting the Green Card. So it means I was not require to register, correct? Now, should I contact SSdepatment to get a letter of exemption to send with my N-400?

Thanks again.

Thanks a lot JoeF. If you can answer following Qs also, I'd be most grateful.

1. How accurate dates need to be on the list of my addresses.? Can I just put month and year?
2. I attended graduate school while workin full time durin last 3 years> should i mention my my studies? Again i don't remember exact dates.
3.My wife travelled overseas but the immigration officer there did not stamp her passport foir entry, there is an exit stamp for that country. Also there is no entry stamp for US. Will it be a problem?

Thanks

Put in what you remember.
I would put that in there as well, with a note that you worked while studying.
I didn't get entry stamps on several occasions, either. At the interview, the officer was going through my passport to verify the dates I had listed, and she was fine with my explanation that for some of them I didn't get entry stamps.

3. How would she prove that she was not out of country for long period of time?
