Folks,

It seems like USCIS has diverted the attention to adjudicating 485 which has slowed down the processing of N400?(Not to mention backlog of FBI on background checks).

I have not seen many interviews in august..

For newark DO, I saw some interviews in later part of July but I have seen just one interview in august.

your take on this?

i saw posts that USCIS approved 60,000 GCs last month and all Employment categories are not available after that. I'm thinking they probably diverted the focus to 485 processing. But only NSC or TSC should be dealing with that. VSC seems to be still recovering from H1 applications and also interview depends on local DO. Another possibility is using manpower to clear passport backlogs about 3 million.

Imo, they are handled by different officers and should not be affected. The issue may be that each category has more people applying and hence the slow down. My 2c.
