Finding ways in USA
New Member
I and my Husband are truly feeling stuck, anxious, and directionless right now with our immigration and career situation in the U.S. With the uncertain political climate, we need strong legal guidance and career advice to make long-term decisions before it’s too late.
Here’s our situation:
- My Husband is on an H1B visa (second extension), full-time employed in a tech role.
- His employer is unresponsive about his green card sponsorship despite multiple follow-ups.
- I am on H4, has a Master’s in Social Work from India, and is not yet ASWB licensed. I want to contribute, study, or work, but feels mentally exhausted and lost sitting idle.
- My brother is a U.S. citizen and filed a family-based petition, but we know it could take many years.
We need advice on multiple fronts:
- Should I opt for another Master’s on Day 1 CPT just to stay active and eventually get an employment-based GC (like through an HR or healthcare career path)?
- Are there any realistic paths to green card without depending on H1B employers or years of waiting (e.g., EB-2 NIW, EB-1, or even Canada PR)?
- Any real career path advice for me (with H4 limitations) that could help me start building a stable future here or abroad?
We’ve gotten lost in blogs, forums, and free webinars — nothing seems clear anymore. We are ready to pay for low-cost consultations but just need genuine guidance, not sugar-coated hope.
Thank You.
