Security check & Priority date

When I called USCIS for an address change, they send confirmation on my case but my 6 year old daughter got a letter which has following sections checked

1)
The processing of your petition/application has been delayed. All petitions/applications received by this service are required to have routine security checks that are resulting in delays of the adjudication of petitions/applications. We can give no definite indication of when they will be completed. We apologize for the delay
2)
Youy may obtain information on visa availability by calling the state department at 202-663-1541. You may obtain personal visa information by calling the state department at 202-663-1225.

My daughter has given code-2 FP - 6 months back. Is there any similar experience? Can anybody help me if I need to take any action on this?

It appears that your daugther is stuck in the "Name Check" process. This is one of those black holes that some people find themselves in. If your PD is current and your daughters case is being held up due to a pending name check I suggest you contact your local congressman/woman and try to get his/her help in following up with the FBI regarding the status of the name check. There is no easy way to get the name check completed but people have had success through congressman, senators etc.

I will certainly follow-up with local congressman/woman on the name check.

But will this (my daughter's name check delay) affect my case as a priliminery applicant if PD is available ? Though I do not expect that my PD will be current any soon, If her name is still pending when PD available, I am afraid that USCIS may show it as a cause to delay approval of my case.

Your concerns are valid. The problem is that there really is no telling how the USCIS operates. If you are the primary applicant a pending Name Check on a dependent "should" not affect your approval. However, anything is possible with these agencies. In all likelihood your case will get approved when your PD becomes current. If your daugthers case is still pending name check clearnace then she might have to wait longer.
