Security check pending- Questions

USCIS finally confirmed in writing that my case has been delayed becasuse of pending security check clearnce.

1. I have requested my lawyer to help and I was told that Congress man's office could be of help. I am not sure if any of you had any luck in contacting the congress mans's help.What a congress man could do in such a situation? What will be the effect of his/her intervention?

2. I heard that security clearance means not necessarily that the file is pending at FBI. I was told that it could be with dept of homeland security/DOS who would like to check the name against watch lists. Can somebdoy confirm?

3.By any chance DOS is causing this BULL^%!$. Keeping the files and not clearing the security checks. Then retrogress the dates so that it can screw royally everybody including those whose 485 is current.Just a wild guess..

If you really want to clear your long-pending NC, you might want to investigate the writ-of-mandamus lawsuit option.

From my personal experience (others may disagree), it is entirely useless to contact congressmen and senators concerning your stuck NC. They will just reconfirm the facts you already know (NC is pending and will be pending for unknown time).
