Security Check-- Is it the same as Name Check???

Gurus,

My 485 and 140 both were filed in VSC on Dec 24 2004 and the 140 got cleared within 3 months. I got affected by Retrogession too and recently I moved and hence updated my address. I got a mail from VSC saying that they have updated my address and my case has been delayed due to security checks. First I want to know whether this is same as the infamus Name Check. If I can address this atleast now, then hopefully when the dates do move, I can have atleast one less worry.

Just wondering! How does any update on a case affect the case! Does it change the PD or anything of that nature? I have read alot about LUD but not sure hoe it affects the case.
