Hi Gurus,

I need your help. I marked x (no) on question #10 on Section10 by mistake where as it should have been marked as yes because I was once stopped by traffic cop for a minor traffic violance and paid ($75) a non point ticket ( blocking traffic for slow driving)

I have sent my application on 6/21 and check was cashed on 7/3 but not yet received FP notice and I am very worried. Please let me know what is my chance. Will there be any issue becuse of this mistake and what should I do now. I am in Newark, NJ

Also I have another questions regarding the same section. I have noticed that lots of people are sending minor traffic ticket details even though immigration guide said if fines paid less than $500 and it was not actual arrest or DUI related violation then don't need to send any document. Do we need to volenteer any information when its clearly not asked by USCIS. By providing this type of iinformation are we helping our case. This is just a query.

Thanks in advance.

don't worry.

I think you may be able to correct this during the interview. Also remember to have documentation ready for support just in case the IO cares about this.

Get used to waiting. The USCIS can be slower than you think. Don't worry until at least a month goes by.

No, you don't need to send any minor traffic stuff in with the application. You just need to be ready to answer questions/prove your point at the interview. But, in most cases, if you say "I forgot a $75 traffic fine" the IO will say "no problem" (well, that's my opinion).

I would say that since it is your one and only ticket, take the proof of payment or whatever docs you have to the interview and don't bring it up. If the IO asks about it then give the papers and mention the rule about tickets below $500.
I think this will work for people with one minor ticket but 2 or more then you may have to declare them.

Don't panic. Unless your are booked for DUI or have tickets >$500 you are fine. IO may or may not ask you for any traffic violations. I got a speeding ticket which I got in 2001 and paid promptly but I do not have proof of payment. I contacted the traffic court and they said that my citation has been purged from their system since it is "too old". I am not worrying about it at all and I have not mentioned it on my N400 either.
