I'm waiting for my OPT application to be approved, and have a few
questions.
First, my background:
* BS with a 4 year F1, used 1 year OPT after graduation.
* F1 -> H1B. Less than 1 year H1B.
* Change of status H1B -> F1. 3 semesters of MS using that.
* Took 4 months off, travelled outside the US, got a new F1 stamp
(8/2002). 1 semester (Spring 2003) using that.
* Another new F1 stamp (8/2003). 1/last semester (Fall 2003) using that.
Am stressing a bit on these points:
* My international office allowed me to apply for the OPT since I had been a full time student on new F1(s) for 2 semesters (9 months).
* What about the 5 months outside the US rule?
Obviously, my case is far from straightforward. Does anyone see
vulnerabilities that could mean a rejection for my OPT app?
Any input appreciated, thanks.
