This is my case:

- Employment Base Petition, Priority Date: Feb. 2004
- I-140/485 filled during July 2007 gate

Back in May 2010 I received a letter that my case was transferred to the National Service Center and then another letter for an initial interview with a local officer. The interview was conducted on July 2010 and everything was fine, officer indicate that since my priority date was not current he was not able to approved my case right there. He told me to wait until my PD was current.

My PD just become current in the April 2011 bulletin, that same day I got a Transfer Notice letter:

"This is to advise you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing: ...."

My question is, should I request an Infopass appointment and see if the officer approves my case right there, or wait for future instructions regarding my I-485 application?

I checked the processing times for an I-485 application and it shows 5 months for the Texas Service Center and my local USCIS office.

Thanks in advanced for your advise.

If you are in EB3 Mexico, your priority date isn't current yet. The cutoff dates of the April bulletin only become effective on April 1st.

That is not an interview notice. Probably there will be no interview, and they're simply transferring the case back to the office in your area because that office previously did your interview, so they expect that office to finalize your case now that your PD is about to become current. Most employment-based I-485 cases don't involve an interview; it would be highly unusual to have two interviews for the same case.

Wait until about mid-April to give them a chance to take action -- either to send you an approval email or letter, or to send another interview notice (although I think a 2nd interview is unlikely). Then if you haven't heard from them, make an Infopass appointment to inquire about your case. Bring the transfer notice with you.

Made a big mistake, you are right, it is not a second interview notice, it is a second TRANSFER notice. Thanks for the advise, btw, the status on the USCIS web page says: Initial Review, which make sense with your explanation about being transfer back to the office where I had the interview.
