2nd AOS interview letter from Philadelphia DO, a month after the interview!!
Dear all,
I am an LPR and applied for greencard for my wife in April 2001 (priority date April25, 2001). The visa number became available last summer and we applied for AOS last July (RD July 25,2005).
Our interview was scheduled in Philadelphia DO on February 23, 2006. The interview went well and the officer said she would approve her case, but the FBI name check is not complete yet and she would check periodically and let us know when it is done. So far nothing is unusual. I was expecting the AOS process to take a year but it took much less and I know a lot of people are waiting for FBI name checks, but here is where it gets weird:
couple of weeks ago, we recieved an interview letter from the Philadelphia DO, asking us to show up for an AOS interview on April 18!!
The form was a a bad photocopy of an interview request form with a philadelphia DO letter head and a hand-filled interview date and time, )whereas the actual interview letter for our Feb 23rd interview we recieved was the usual USCIS letter on fancy paper. I am now confused as whether this is just to have us come in so that she can stamp wy wife's passport, meaning that the name check has arrived (optimistic view) and she used the form just as a convenient way of making an appointment or that the system is so screwed up that they don't remember that they had interviewed us on Feb 23rd. Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks a lot
PLS
