Second FP

My first fp will expire two months soon. It is just shy of 5 days. I am very frustrated about it. Should I do something to get second fp? Like call IIO, or contact congressman or senator. Can some one give me advise on this?

This is a question that I had been pondering about when I was close to my FP expiry. My law firm did not want me to call IIO's or Congressperson for a second FP as they believed that generation of 2nd FP is random.
I was approved after a month of expiry of my FP and a second FP was not asked for.
However, in my case an RFE was generated before the expiry of the first FP, but I responded after my first FP had expired.
Some will argue that my case was touched owing to the RFE and as a result of that I was not asked for a second FP. This info is just for your knowledge.

You might want to call your congressperson as they can help in getting a second FP.

For some people doing a status enquiry or renewing EAD has seemed to have helped.

Not sure about status Inquiry as I did not check even once till date either by phone or web.

But applying APs and EADs do not work.

I have applied 3 APs and 3 EADs till date.

FP1 expired 1.5 months back.

No FP2, No RFE and No Approval.

Also second FP is an automatic process

Unless the case is with an officer. There is no consistent pattern in something that results in the case being looked. You could give a try through congressman also.
