Second finger print notice sent to me or my attorney?

I called INS the day before yesterday, and was told the second finger print notice was sent to my attorney 2 weeks ago. When I asked more details, the officer told me he couldn't pull out those information (I guess he refused to disclose), and suggested me contacting my attorney. My GC attorney is my company's attorney, who has been extremely slow to respond any of my inquiries. Sigh, otherwise I already got my GC long time ago...

Why was it sent to my attorney this time? I remember I got my first one directly from INS. Hope it's more than a FP notice...

Thanks!

One thing kind of strange is why would they send you a second FP notice now. According to the 15 months rule, your first FP will be fine till this August. Well, a lot of guys are still waiting for the 2nd FP notice 'cause their first one already expired. Who the hell knows how those guys work?

Best wishes,

From my experience, BCIS sents a copy of FP notice to you and your lawyer will also get a copy. In my case, that's exactly what happened. My lawyer emailed me that he received a copy and checked if I had received one too.

As for FP, they usually last 15 months from the time FBI clears it. If it is expiring, they will normally reissue another one to get it done. In the past, I have read in the thread some folks who had received the second FP notice and they had checked with BCIS and were asked to redo them. My colleague (from India) had 3 FP notices in a year's span. My best bet would be to go get it done or when you are with the BCIS local office, ask them why are you getting your 2nd FP notice.

Hope this helps.

I received a fingerprint notice last month that indicated an appointment date sometime in early May. I had already been fingerprinted once last July and was puzzled by the second notice. So I took it to the local INS office (a few weeks before the date of the appointment) and was told that my earlier fingerprints continue to be valid and that there is no need for a second set yet. They collected my notice and said that they will return it to Nebraska with the appropriate information. Of-course, no receipt or proof was provided that would show my compliance with the notice.

There are other posts on this board that seem to suggest that people with a vaild set of prints were fingerprinted again. I have given up looking for a method in this madness.
