Secon EAD renewal application

If you have renewal applied from company that is not approved for two months or more and your expiry date is approching could you go to
Boston INS office and renew EAD on same day.
Please let me know if this second EAD renewal application is valied and if anyone have tried it.

If your application is not approved within 90 days, you can go to yr local INS office and get a interim EAD.

for that one has to have applied 90 days ago. What if one has applied 60 days before expiry and not yet approved???
 
Boston INS will renew ur EAD only if u r a resident of MA or NH.

I don't know about how they would handle ur case (that of already applying to VSC) in case u fit the above criteria.

I am from MA

I stay and work in MA.
I don't understand, If INS can't approve EAD renewal in two months why won't they entertain me at Boston office and approve renewal same day as they did for my first EAD.

I had applied for my EAD renewal on Nov 18th ( one of those days when they didn't issue EAD on the same day). I didn't get a call, and I urgently need the new EAD since the previous one was expiring on 3rd Jan 2003. I went to the office yesterday to basically ask about my EAD application status, and they said that it will take around 90 days to process it. I asked them about AP , just for kicks and they gave me the same answer ( for kicks because I had applied for AP on the same day as EAD, and got it within a week..) . They told me that they can issue EAD on the same day, but then I will have to enter a new application. Not wanting to risk anything with the way the INS works, I spent an extra 120 dollars and filled out a new form and got my EAD the very same day. The whole thing sounded ridiculous to me ( how can they issue new EADs on the same day, and cannot issue EAD's to the application which has already been with them for more than a month...), but then atleast i have my EAD now for the next year and have one less thing to worry about.
 
Spoke to lawyer today

According to laeyers, Boston district office continues to issue AP and EAD on same day. ( please confirm his with your experience) ..
I recently heard(rumor??) that INS, for security reasons only accept by post.
Was is just a rumour..
Has anybody got same day renewal recentlly.

I stay in MA and got my first EAD in 2 hours.

It took me 2 wks (from the filing date 12/4/02) to get the new EAD card in the mail -- never got a receipt!

I also filed the AP renewal at the same time but haven't heard anything yet.
