Scotia bank question

Hi,

I am going for H1 stamping in Ottawa next month. Can someone(My friend) pay the consulate fees at Scotia bank instead of me and they can send the receipt to me at my US address?

I do not see why this would not work; the friend can just send the receipt to your hotel address.
Generally it is recommended that you do it in person because you will be in canada anyways. I have seen scotia bank branches even at the border post; so you can deposit the money as soon as you cross the border (if travelling by car, that is).
