Today i was checking the case status on line to see if they ordered the plastic card, and i found out that my case does not exist. This is literally the message i got :

The status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.
National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283

I checked with other guys in the other forum, especially with the tech gurus, and they informed me that this happened to a couple of people. They explained that the INS web site is undergoing update and they told me to check the case on the phone at the above mentioned number. I did and luckily i found my case. So, if you do not find any information about your case, do not panic.

In other words, if your case is not exisiting, you are approved!! What a paradox. By the way after getting the plastic card, my case reappeared again. :)

Thanks for your reply,
but when I call the number and give my casenumber it said that on June the 6th they send me a letter about something, is my case still approved, or if it was approved would it say that my case has been approved?

I think if your case is approved, the online message or phone message should be the same. It will say " This case has been approved. On June 6th of 2003, we mailed you an approval notice. If 14 days have passed and you didn't receive .............
I checked my case status on-line and the phone message and they were identical.

Congratulations jattindc1,

It looks like September 22 is a good day for us. My online message is changed on the same day and contains the same wording as yours. I think also "JackIsBack" recieved his plastic card in the mail in the same day. Good luck to every one who is still waiting.

I had the same troubling toughts as you, but today my case status is back. It does say I am approved, which happened August 14, 2003. Not yet CG odered...

So I suppose that was some kind of glitch or data purge. Who knows what they are doing back there?

Do they suppose to update the on-line status with 'we ordered your GC...' or something like that?

There has been a glitch in the INS web site for case status. This included many cases such as approvals, RFE, .. etc. I think they fixed the problem now. It was not a sign that they were changing staus from case approved to card ordered ; it was just a glitch. Good luck
