Satus Check through Attorney

Guys,

After waiting for so long, today i requested a Status check for my I140 through my attorney. She said she will be mailing the request soon.

Is this status check useful?. Has anyone seen any movement in the case upon a status check?. Is this good or bad?.

Appreciate your inputs.

Hey Ashwin,

If yrs is EB3 case then i dunno how yr attorney is willing to request a status check when the official BCIS web site stilll says they are processing cases received on or before Sept 15th/2003 for EB3 cases @ NSC

I very much doubt that u will get any +ve response , but who knows u might get lucky..things are very unpredictable here, so there is no harm in status check.

Mine is EB2. Still EB2 processing time is Sept 03.

Will they really let us check the status?.

I am not sure if the lawyer will really check the status. But here is what I heard from my lawyer. She can initiate a status check process only if your filing date is more than 30 days past the current processing date. I think thats like a standard rule imposed by USCIS.

My I-140 filing date is Sep 26, 2003. USCIS is currently processing Sep 15,2003 applications. Hence she said she can not initiate the status check process. I am just waiting for the current processing date change to Oct 26, 2003.
