I have a quick question. Last week me and my wife received FP for both of us. We found there is a typo in my wife FP and we called USCIS and udpated the information. They told us that it will take 30 days to take the changes in effect.

My question is our FP Schedule date is Apr 12th. I believe we dont think we get response from USCIS before that. We called USCIS by march 8th. Assume If I don't get response from USCIS. Can I take my wife for FP with me or Do I need to wait for the reply from USCIS.

I will goahead with April 12th Appointment. Make sure they create records with correct name in the system. When I went for FP, the guy asked to me check my name twice to ensure it is correct. Remember Alien number and SSN number are also used in the system.

Do you know whether they used the correct name in the "NAME CHECK process"
you may want to check on that. This is a seperate process

Also I think you will get papers from USICS before that. Don't lose sleep on this.

Take the 485 recipt with the correct name

I just saw your post. I had the exact same thing on my wife FP notice (asif enough hasn't happened already :). We took a copy of her 485 receipt that had the correct name and showed it to the office. They corrected it in the system. You should do the same. Its not a big deal at all.
