San Jose PP Stamping Experience

Ciba,

Could you please post this experience on your site also?

The situation is still pretty bad in San Jose. I reached the SJ office at 4:20 am on 6/6/01. There were nearly 100 people in front of me at that time. The line behind me grew really quick after 5 am.With the people joining in and all, there were at least 200 people in front of me by 7am. The doors opened at 7 am and the guards were letting 5 people in at a time. I got into the office at 8:20am and my token number was in 120s. I believe people who got into the line after 6am weren\'t able to get in that day. Processing was pretty slow in the morning and it picked up around 10 am or so and again died out during the lunch time. finally, my number was called at 1:10pm and I was done by 1:15pm. I asked the officer whether they are planning on issuing appointments for passport stamping in the future. The answer is no and he gave me a cock and bull story about not being able to handle all the appointments if some of the officers are out for any reason. It was absolutely ridiculous, but I just let it go..

Considering that I had to wait nearly 5 years to get the green card, the final step wasn\'t nearly that bad although it\'s a nuisance.

My suggestion to others who are planning on going to San Jose for stamping is that, go there as early as you can. Other than the hassle of getting up early, you will definitely end up saving some time. In my case, I could\'ve been outta there by 10 am, if I was in line by 3:45 or so.

Best of luck to everybody
