Hi IBM101,
6 months is a long time. I have seen people receiving oath letters in 2 to 6 weeks in oakland area. Did you try to contact oakland, ca office? Could you please tell me your interview experience? How did your interview go? What they mentioned at the end of your interview?

Hi IBM101,
I wish you good luck. In my case they didn't mention about any pending name checks. Its seemed like everything was complete, and the case was ready for approval. I answered all questions, and then the officer gave me a paper with two items checked:
1. You passed the tests of English and U.S. history and government.
2. Congratulations! your application has been recommended for approval. At this time, it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified when and where to report for Oath Ceremony.
The officer told me that my application has been recommended for approval, and the supervisor will review everything one more time before approval.
hmmmmmmmmm!!! very distressing
I am waiting for Oath Ceremony now. But I feel very nervous when I see other people waiting for 6 months to 1 year. I heard Oakland office is very quick but in your case they are taking long time.
