San Francisco Immigration Office Nightmare I-485 Problem

Hi,

I just came back from waiting at the San Francisco immigration office for over 4 hours just for a freaking inquiry!

Here is my situation; I submitted my application for Adjustment of Status I-485 May of 2002. I had my interview Jan. 2003. After the interview The agent told me they will grant my application, however first they will need to do future research due to an A number crap. I asked, "what do you mean?" he said "oh, we have to do some research and will get back to you within 90 days."

Fair enough, 3 months and I'm a legal alien. That was 18 months ago since then I've written 6 times to request status and went to the SF local office 3 times. Every time I was told my papers are still being processed. I fill out a G- something form to request for information. Which is supposed to be answered within 6 weeks. Nothing... no letter, no nothing.

I am frustrated as hell now; I don't know what action to take to speed up this process. I just keep getting the run-around oh we have tons of application to process. I realize that, but I have friends and relatives that had their interview after me and they've all got their Green Card already.
It's beyond hell at this point... I get there at 6:30 AM waiting in line, 4 hours of waiting and all they can tell me is "oh we're still processing, keep waiting"

I need help people! What can I do? I know there is a special form you can file to speed up your case, I believe you have to pay $1,000 and they will answer your inquiry within 2 weeks. But, that's only answering your inquiry not approving your application...
