I work for a mid size networking corporation which is into several technology markets -- IP routers, wireless, VoIP, cellular etc.

I joined this company on H1 and into the wireless line of products.
Now I have moved to Voice over IP etc. I am still a software engineering -- just coding different layers of software now.

Does this have a bearing on my 485 processing in anyway in case an RFE arrives ?

I do think it is a big issue .. your lawyers should be able to draft a good letter to explain that the jobs are fairly the same .. moreover, your job title is the same .. i think, u should be fine ..

eventually

thanks eventually .... do you mean "I don't think it is a big issue" or do you think it is a big issue ?

when, if at all will the lawyer have to draft the letter.

Thanks,

:) LOL!

INS does not understand the meaning of Software let alone layers of a wireless protocol! :)

It is ABSOLUTELY NO problem. Your LC DOES NOT go that much into specifics of which layer you are working on. You could even change the coding language you are working on BUT:

As long as job title is similar, and responsibilites are similar - e.g "Software engineer, responsible for development, maintainence, design, etc. of code". Then there should be no problem.

On a personal note, I noticed you are a newbie, so allow me to introduce you to our wares. :) We run a large number of Fax/email/letter campaigns targetted at reducing backlogs. Please do join us in our campaigns, and work towards your approval! Reduction of backlogs will help all of us and the way things are going, we need all the help we can get to meet this goal.

I second 140...It doesnt matter. I work for a mid-size software company. My responsibilities, title that are now is different from from when my LC was filed. Last week, when I got RFE, My HR have a letter explaning exactly what matches in LC. So, it is up to your HR and Attorney.

thanks guys !

In my case the job responsibilities remain the same ! Churn networking software -- the only thing that changes is that I churn software for a different kind of hardware box than i did before. Title is exactly what it always was ...

so I dont think I have to even worry about HR explaining it to anyone. I guess ?
