Same day AP in Arlington VA

I have applied for renewal of AP in December and still havent recd it. I need to go to India in June and I was wondering if it is possible to get it approved from the Arlington Center?
What documents would I need.
Do I need to wait till it gets closer to my travel dates before I go there?

Not as simple as before

I have heard that even the local offices are being non-cooperative. Not that they won't issue interim EAD or AP but that they are not making any special efforts to make our lives easier and simpler.

I also remember reading somewhere that each local offices only issues a certain number of EAD and AP each day. Not sure.

I guess I will have to try at the local office and if I am lucky, they might issue an interim AP.
