Same Day AP at Newark Possible?

My co-worker has applied for his GC and was wondering if he could get his AP form the Newark INS office on the same day or should he get it by applying to the VSC. Can anyone who has any experience in this matter please enlighten us? Thanks

Yes, you can get same day AP in Newark INS. I went on wednesday, which is a week day reserved for appointments only. They asked for proof of emergency (I took a letter from hospital and reservation confirmation). My lawyer also asked me to take original I 485 receipt. However, they did not ask for it. They just kept a copy of I 485 receipt notice. I am not sure if they asked for proof of emergency and travel confirmation because it is an appointment only day or they ask for the same the other days too. I went there by 6 AM and got out 2 PM. Hope this helps.
 
Same Day AP

I got mine from Newark in the month of JAN.
Immigration officer asked for 140 Approval copy and 1485 receipt. I was asked no questions. I just had a cover letter saying need to attend marriage of my brother. I had valid H1B also. Just take all the photocopies of H1B, passport, 485 receipt, 140 approval and employment confirmation letter. They will ask for photocopies.
 
Thanks guys for posting it. I will be going to the INS office tommorow for same day AP. I will let u know if I got it
