My appointment was 8:10am today. I got there 30 min before and I was called in shortly after the appointment time. The officer was very personable, polite, and curteous. The first thing we did after swearing in was the tests. The following Qs were asked:
Where is the White House located?
Name two senator in your state.
In what month is the new President inaugurated?
What is the legislative branch of our government?
What are the 2 major political parties in the U.S. today?
Who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court?
Then I was asked to write down a sentence: He has a very large dog, and to read out loud a sentence from the sheet: What is the supreme court law of the United States?
After the tests, we went through my N-400. There were various changes as I got married after I submitted the form. Even so, the whole thing was quick and sweet - maybe 20 minutes or so. Then she told me that she would recommend my application to be approved. But there have been so many people going through the process and I can expect 4 months or so wait till the ceremony. Even though they have 2 ceremonies a month in the SL area, there are a limited number of people they could process per ceremony. Oh well, I got this far without much delay. I can wait another 4 months. I still will be able to vote this year, hopefully.
In any case, I feel much relieved that the interview went well. I haven't posted much in the forum but I regularly read the posts and found them very helpful. Thank you. All the best for all of you.
