salary miss-match/GC status violation ?

Hi,

If getting GC through CP, with employment letter promising the right salary as soon as I become PR, and after starting working as PR the employer doesn\'t keep its promise, namely gives me a salary lower 5% than promised, will I violate PR status ?

Suppose this issue gets undiscovered by INS, as I heard they don\'t usually follow-up on the salary. When I will eventually apply for citizenship 5 yrs. from now, can this problem surface during an INS background check ? Do you know if INS is supposed to check all the way to 5 yrs. in the past ?

Don\'t worry

This issue is not in INS focus. No one is ever going to look into it. Don\'t worry.
 
You should not worry

You will not be in violation, though your employer might be in violation. However, if discovered by INS, they will probably require the company to pay you the difference.
