I went to San Jose INS yesterday to get interim EAD. I got there around 8:30am and the line is not so long. Get in the office around 10:00am. I thought everything is ok, yet when I gave my I485 and I765 to an old officer, he let me fill one form and go home to wait. I totally confused coz as I know I should get at the same day. Though there is one notice said due to the security check all process will be slow down. That officer repeated again and again told me to wait at home and they will send notice to me to get there again.
Had no choice I asked if I can make an AP inquiry since my ND is 1/10/2002 and I still didn\'t get AP. He gave me a number and I wait almost 2 hours. Then when I ask the question, another officer just check my drive licence and told me my home address on drive license is at San Mateo, so I should go to SFO. I told him all my forms are based on attorney\'s address which is in san jose, but he insist me to go to SFO. But my finger printer is really in San jose. When I tried to ask him again, he seems won\'t will to talk to me again.
The first guy got my I765 form and told me to wait and the second guy told me I have no right to even ask some information at San Jose Office. Really feel not good, I decide to wait the line once more and make things clear. When I got the third officer, he told me the first one made a mistake. I should get the iEAD today, and the first one put me inside the renew EAD? I don\'t know totally confused. SO I begged him to give my form back since I am really afraid them to lost that. He told me he believe they already be put in the mail box. I begged him to check. Reluctantly but still nice enough finally he gave me back my form.
OK, finally I did nothing but it is already lucky not losing anything. Now I need some suggestion. Do you think I should go to SFO to get the iEAD since my home address on drive license is there? My form address is in san jose. I asked several my friends did this before, they never been asked for
home address? Is that because some new policy in INS? Will SFO turn me down because the form address is san jose? I believe wherever the local office they can enter the information center to get my info, right? Of course if they are willing to do so.
By the way, I also did FP yesterday, that is a good experience. People are nice and effective. To me they are more like a service company than a government.
And comments are welcome!
