I am due for my oath ceremony in the near future and one of my fellow employees has been giving me strange "vibes" as of late, when he found out that I was going to become a US citizen shortly.

I really have no proof that he is attempting to derail me but I was wondering if anyone has heard of anything like this or if it is possible for someone to make problems for me.

I have a totally clean criminal history and have never had any problems with anyone of anything in my entire life.

I look forward to hearing from anyone that has any input at all.

Thanks......

Who doesn't owe anything.. has nothing to fear.

Relax! and good luck in your interview!!.. and try to get that people away from you.

Thank you for the support

My co-worker is American Born but he and several other fellow employees do make comments about my country of birth....nothing serious just annoying.....Thank you all for the positive comments.....:D

Perhaps it would be better not to give them any more updates of your progress and keep things to yourself. Just let them know after you took your oath :)

No more updates

Yes...you are right....I have been keeping the progress very quiet and I have only mentioned it one time...two weeks ago and instantly I could see that was a mistake.

I am surprised at the animosity toward immigrants.....on second thought I am not surprised with the red neck attitudes that exist......

Privateer: I supervised several american born people, even had to fire a couple of them. I know what you mean.
do not worry about this man comments. You will do great!!! And yes, believe it or not he does envy you. Otherwise he would not be making those comments
Imagine if you take that man to your country, and he wants to become a citizen there? Hard, right? He would be back home in one week!!!
You made it, you made it to the citizenship and should be proud.

Thank you

HI....I guess my only concern is if my fellowe employee contacts USCIS with any false claims against me.....

I am hoping that they will not be taken seriously....Thanks again for everyones input and support

OP,
I doubt these clowns will do something so drastic but in any case keep a note of all their comments, time, date and all info about what they said. After your oath, if their behavior continues take the log to your HR and file a complain against this harassment.
If I were you I would complain as soon as the oath ceremony is done.
