S Corp and EAD

HI,
I am on EAD and my friend who started a S-Corp recently wants me to be his partner. Can i do that?

I think somewhere on this forum i have seen someone saying You cant be a shareholder with an EAD in a S-Corp company.

If not shareholder, what other options are there to work towards the growth of the comapany and profit sharing.

Can a company be changed to different form after starting it as S-Corp?
Wouldn't there be implications?
