Hi All,

I'm from Russia and I studied 10 years (I was one of the last graduates of 10 year long system) and I got my high school degree. Then I studied 5 year long specialist law degree at the university

How should I write the 10 year long education. 1998-2008 High School Diploma. or I should split like an american system, 1998-2001 elementary, 2001-2006 middle school, 2006-2008 high school.

And how should i state my specialist degree. Bachelor of Arts is 4 year long degree, specialist is 5 year long.

Please help me :(

Hi,

You can split your school years in the following way:
- Elementary School
- High School

Are the first 4 years of career equivalent to a Bachelor's degree? If so, you can put it as a Bachelor Diploma.
Is the Specialist (5th year) Diploma equivalent to a Master's degree? If so, you can state it as a Master's.

Pryanik :)

thanks Mr. Pryanik,

In my high school diploma the entry date written as 1998. and graduation is 2008. That's why I thought it could be a problem to split it. What would you do in this case? Diploma has my entry and graduation date.

For the specialist degree thing, to be honest I don't really know if it is equivalent to a master's degree. I think, I gotta talk to the embassy, they should know the equivalency :)
