I recall someone remarking, with the weight of a fair amount of analysis behind it, that we need to see a minimum of six approvals per day on rupnet for the back-logs not to rise. This was based on the then state of rupnet data. To the degree that rupnet's dataset keeps gettiing larger over time, the steady-state approval number would also increase commensurately.
I am afraid the situation is becoming rather hopeless.
The wait for I-485 adjudication seems to be endless. Although I check the BCIS online regularly for update, I am starting to get the idea that my application won't be approved until mid-2005.
From what I can see NSC has been working Jan 02 cases since the week of 5/19. Historically they have taken about 12 weeks to perform their preliminary processing on each months worth of cases. By preliminary I mean approval or RFE. They are going a little slower than normal so I expect them to be complete in another 5 or 6 weeks from now.
Now if you get an RFE, from what I can see there is no way of telling when you see approval.
So if I am right you should be hearing something on your case soon.
