Hello there:
I hope some one can answer my question here:
Just as a background, I came to canada in September 2002 as a student. I got my PR on Oct 12 2005. I am planning to apply for citizenship on Oct 31 2007. I have visited India thrice between 2003-2007. Total absence days come upto 95 days. So my physical presence is about 1000 days. My dilemma is I have to visit India in November again to attend my ailing mother. I have got my admission to USA for january 2008. So I have no other option but to apply in October of this year.
Here is my question:
I got married in 2006 and I have travelled twice. Once to get engaged and then again to get married in the same year. I have proof of this. Total absence days come upto 70 days. Can I count these days for physical presence as I have heard that some reasons may be taken into account for the 1095 days calculation? Do you think the judge who decides upon my case takes notice of this and grant me the citizenship?
Can anybody else who have been in the same boat as I share their experiences?
Your reply is greatly Appreciated
