Running an own business with a L2 visa

I am on a L2 visa with an EAD. As an architect/designer I got an offer to start working on a private project, which I would need to write invoices for. Who has experience with running an own business and could help me with information in regards to the tax? What taxes do I need to charge in an invoice? Do I need a tax ID number?

You can set up a LLC or INC corporation, there is another S type corporation but cannot remember what an S one is for

On an L2 you can work for someone else or be self employed.

If you set up a company you will get good write offs


You should speak with a CPA accountant for proper advise
