My (Anxious) Fellow 485 Applicants
A friend of mine was interviewing for a paralegal job with a young immigration attorney who just started his own law firm. This attorney said that those who filed 485 in 2002 may experience a significant delay on their approvals because BCIS is currently prioritizing asylum processing.
I checked with my attorney and he said it's news to him.
I posted this message in Rupnet and one of the users checked with his/her attorney and got the same answer (that it's news to her). However, the attorney added it's not uncommon for the BCIS/INS to pull out an officer and reassign her/him to a case that has become backlogged.
Please, anyone help me verifiy this info (or rumor) by checking with their attorney.
Thanks !!
