Round Trip or 1 way ticket -- parents coming to us on visitor's visa

I wanted to ask if a round trip ticket is absolutely required for parents entering US on visitors visa? If I file a GC for them after they are here, then the return ticket may be useless.

Thanks

They're not supposed to enter the US with a tourist visa while having the intent to stay and immigrate. If they enter the US with a one-way ticket and the POE officer knows that, they'll probably be refused entry unless they also have another one-way ticket to leave the US. The airline might not even let them board the flight with a one-way ticket.

In an older thread you mentioned your parents being rejected when they applied for tourist visas. It looks like your parents are planning to prove that the embassy was right to reject their visas.
