First of all congratulations for big list of advise after your approval.
I have gew questions :
First of all my case is Apr 1999 , EB3 which is transfered to Newark local INS office so now things not predictable in terms of time-frame. They dont
have any status check number. Its likely to take atleast six more monts.
I need your advise and help in this:
Was your case transferd to local ins?
did you contact congressman or do you advise to?
what kind of follow up you did when you saw other approvals and your case is taking for ever?
do you recommend second lawyers opinion and which laywer?
my main concern is follow up and some prediction of time-frame.
Thanks.
your feedback will help a lot.

ragji,
No my case was not transferred.
No did not contact congressman...but was shortly going to.
I,however suggest that you do. I think my case was approved, by me calling regularly and insisting that my case be looked at. I got a sympathetic officer and she said she\'ll follow up. I have a suspicion that things just collect dust at the bottom of the pile till some external event triggers your case to be brought up. I know it sounds strnage but thats the way they seem to work. Contacting your congressman proably does the same thing. This is however not true if you got already got a rfe or something. as far as getting second opinion is concerned, i meant that if there are any issues in your case or your case is not straightforward then its better to get a second opinion just to help you plan.

I think you need to do two things...
1.either ask your lawyer or you yourself call ins and insist that your case be looked at.
2.Give it a 2/3 weeks and if not contact your congressman. I think that would definately work.

email me at yimbu@yahoo.com if you need any other help.
