Risk in Landing with Advance Parole

I am in AOS for GC in US (485 pending). I have no H1B visa or status. I have valid EAD and AP.

My Canada PR visa expiring in July. I want to complete the landing process for a back up. I want to come back US immediatly.

Is there any risk in landing in Canada to complete PR process with Advanced Parole document? Is there any problem in coming back to USA? Will the usage of AP for this (Canada immigration) purpose jeoperdise my 485 application?

What kind of questions did the Canadian immigration agents asked you? What did the US border agents say after they knew that you had a I-485 pending but landed in Canada? Many Thanks.

I landed in using AP in May 2006. Canadian immigration officials did not ask much questions, rather very nice and pleasant. While coming back US official, especially one young mean lady, gave me a hard time. At one point she almost denied my entry saying that " you can't have legs in two boats". But I have to sit and wait for while, and they could not find anything else wrong with me (and luck) and they let me in. If I was you, I will think twice before going.

Thank you much for your response. Which port (Detriot?) did you use for re-entering the US? Under what ground could they deny your re-entry? I did not receive any landing paper, only a notice from the consulate to send in the passport for stamping, is that normal? Once again thank you.

I don't know what were there grounds for harrasing me, but they sure were not nice.

guys,
i have not landed yet and i dont plan to land on AP. i dont have h1 anymore and i hear that there is lot of risk involved. my entry to canada ends in 5 days..so i might not go.

please suggest what do you guys think?? am I doing the right thing? is it worth the risk or just wait for my 485 approval?
