RIR to PERM (please suggest!)

I was filed under RIR, EB2 - PD March 2005. I have my H1B expiry in 2007. My employer is offering me to file mine under PERM, but am unable to decide. Does anyone have any success in switching from RIR to PERM ? The risk is, if my PERM is rejected, I may be cutting it too short for my 7th+ year extension with RIR - but if I let my RIR proceed as it is, I will make it most likely. But filing under PERM and getting LC done will help my H4 spouse to work - so it's very tempting...

Could anyone offer any suggestions or advise please ?

dates have retrogressed

u cannot file EAD until dates are current
