RFI for AP...anybody had a similar experience?

Hi All,

We got an RFI for our AP? We are yet to know what additional information is needed.

This sounds very weird to me. Is it common to get an RFI for AP too?? Anybody has had a similar experience??

Please let me know....

Even I got RFE for AP in yesterday's email. I am waiting for the mail to check what needs to be submitted. Yes, it sounds weird...

My wife received an RFE for her second AP back during our 485 process. (I was the primary, she the derivative). My AP was filed and approved at the same time without RFE.

Her RFE requested a copy of our marriage certificate, even though it was in the file. My attorney said it's not usual -- that it's just laziness on the part of the adjucating officer. Apparently they don't even have to get out of their chair to press a button and generate an RFE, but to pull a file means they'd actually have to get a few minutes of excercise.

In my case I didnt send pictures, thought that Pictures they took for EAD(aplied both at the same time) were enough..
They asked for pictures.. and also asked for a copy of 140 approval as well.

Update

We got the mails from USCIS today. RFE is apparently for copeis of 140 approval.

The lawyers claim that they sent it and USCIC lost it....whatever

I am more interested in getting my GC than the AP.

Me too

I got RFE on AP and replied yesterday.

They asked me a Photo with white background (a home made photo was attached earlier), I-140 approval Notice, I-485 of my wife (she is the applicant) and Marriage certificate.

Do you guys know how long it will take for them to approve AP after RFE. I have to travel outside the country very soon.
